Gold Is the Easiest Thing in the World to Lend Against

The weight is known, the purity is known and the price is public and continuous. There is nothing to argue about — which is why a gold-secured advance is arithmetic rather than underwriting, and why it funds in days.

No credit check and no obligation. If borrowing is the wrong instrument for your situation, that is what you will hear first.

The difference

What makes this different from selling it

Gold is the easiest collateral to value

There is nothing to argue about. The weight is known, the purity is known, and the price is public and continuous. That is why a gold-secured advance funds in days rather than weeks — the underwriting is arithmetic.

The same bars come back

Not an equivalent weight of similar metal. The same bars and coins, with the same serial numbers where they carry them. Ask any lender in this space that question, because the answers differ and the difference is material.

Numismatic premium is not collateral

A secured advance is against metal content. If a coin carries a collector premium well above melt, that value is worth more to you than to us, and we will tell you not to pledge it.

Business purpose only, and we mean it

These are commercial loans. They are not offered for personal, family or household use, and that is a licensing characteristic rather than a preference. If your need is personal we will say so and point you somewhere useful.

If your need is personal rather than business, we cannot fund it — and we will tell you that first rather than after you have shipped metal.

FAQ

Common questions

How much can I borrow?
Up to 65% of market value, minimum $15,000 — roughly $23,000 of gold.
Can I borrow for a personal reason?
No. Business purpose only. That is a licensing characteristic, not a preference.
Which states are excluded?
Nevada, Vermont, North Dakota and South Dakota. That is absolute.
Do you check credit?
No. The loan is secured by the gold, so the gold is what gets inspected.
Do I get the same bars back?
Yes — the same bars and coins, not an equivalent weight. Ask any lender that question.
Do you lend against rare coins?
Against their metal content only, which is why you should not pledge one. The premium is worth more to you than to us.
What is the interest rate?
Single digit, interest-only monthly, no origination fees and no prepayment penalty. We do not publish a specific APR.
What is the catch?
A monthly obligation, a margin call if gold falls materially, a 65% ceiling, and losing the collateral on default. All four are real and all four have a page.

Next step

Run it both ways before you decide.

No credit check and no obligation. Tell us what you hold and what the money is for, and if selling is the better answer for your situation you will be told that first.

Business purpose only. Not available in Nevada, Vermont, North Dakota and South Dakota.
